I just have a small comment to the AW flowchart. I think that the 16" minimum barrel length should be moved to the beginning of the chart or it should also be added after the "yes" response to the "was it registered" cell.

When I was a newbie here, there was a day or two (the happiest days of my life) that I thought I could SBR a RAW.

I know its an AW chart and not an SBR/AOW chart, but since it makes an appearance in the chart, it could be clearer that no rifle can have a barrel shorter than 16".

Just a thought.

We have a new flowchart coming out soon which incorporates some new features and clarifies some questions of past flowcharts (thanks RedHorse, ke6guj, Obeygiant, FastFinger et al); stay tuned.

Hmmm....

Perhaps the first box after "Start" should be:
"Is the firearm a rifle? A rifle is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder. Non-rifles are not covered by any CA AW laws." or something to that effect.

This removes the non-rifles (1919, SG43, Maxim/Vickers, M2HB, DShK, etc.) and perhaps the AK/AR pistols IMMEDIATELY from consideration as rifle AWs. Otherwise thing could get sticky...

Owning some of these non-rifles may have made me a little biased about what should be on the flowchart. Pretty scary to try to use the flowchart with a non-rifle.

Is there a flowchart for ar or ak pistols? That would be helpful.

yes, the legality of AR/AK pistols is covered in the handgun legality chart, http://www.calguns.net/caawid/hgflowchart.pdf
