What are the pros and cons? I am trying to decide between Winchester RA45T and RA45TP (Ranger T Series.... both are .45 230gr, one is +P and one isn't). Would really appreciate any help for a newbie:)

Cons:
With +P you get more recoil, wear and tear on your gun if you are going to shoot that particular ammo a lot. If that's the case you may want to switch the recoil spring to a higher lbs than the standard factory.

Pro:
More expansion and higher foot per pounds of energy.

I shot some Hornday +p out of my 1911. More recoil and it banged up the inside of the frame. The lug on the barrel hit the frame.

Not ever again!!

With a 16lb spring, That will happen. Get an 18lb or higher. The Wolf 18.5 spring kit is about 15 bucks. You should replace the mainspring every 2000 rnds anyways.
