wow it's getting good!

The campaign for high-profile California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has released an attack ad against one of her Republican primary opponents that just might be the most bizarre in American political history, one that's already being called everything from "terrifying" to "psychedelic."

OK, I believe the message is "sheep good, pigs bad." Right?

I lost it when the sheep with the glowing red eyes-of-evil flashed on the screen.

Pig in sheep's clothing...?

Heck I don't even know anymore...

I was joking, it is interpretable, eventually. The weird and confusing sheep imagery was all a setup for the sheep-in-wolf's-clothing climax shot with the horror-movie eyes.

The problem, of course, is people might miss it because they're still trying to scratch their heads and figure out why "being a sheep" is good, when in other contexts it means you just go wherever the crowd goes. Until the controlling metaphor is revealed, it makes no sense.

They should have used other imagery and not introduced the sheep until they were ready to use lupo-sheep there.

Hopefully this will make for some good youtube poop as it has a lot of excellent shots of sheep masticating and closeups of things to abuse. :D

Edit: That was Chelene Nightengale who campaigns at UOC events, not Carly Fiorina

Boy, that sure could scare some young children with the red LED eyes and all...

what scares adults is Fiorina setting up a technology shell company in Saudi Arabia so HP could sell hardware and support tools to IRAN despite the sanctions the US has in place because of IRAN's link to terrorism and gross human rights violations....very scary!

Why do they even bother? Jerry Brown will be our next governor, and all the better, given his stance on RKBA.

let us not forget she almost destroyed HP and was fired. I think she's the wolf in a dress....

This is from the same candidate who campaigns at UOC events.

Heart's in the right place, but I fear she doesn't have the political savvy to make a real shot at it.

Are you thinking of Chelene Nightengale possibly? I don't recall any Fiorina UOC events.

She was on a John and Ken yesterday. She makes me think of Meg Whitman and both of them make me shudder. Although, I think anyone is better than Boxer, I don't want another RINO.

I agree. In some respects an anti-gun Dem is better than an anti-gun RINO. More of us will not have any problem hating a DEM and it is easier (more clean cut) to cast scorn and criticism their way.

Ah, entirely my mistake. For some reason I mixed up the two names.

Yeah. Now the world makes sense again. I was going to go out and lay tarps on my roof, because pig droppings are nasty. :D

Doh! Fiorina is running for the Senate, it's Whitman who thinks she can buy the Governor's race. Oh well, spot the difference - both women are inexperienced in the art of government, and both will be mightily trounced by their Democratic opponents, if they even advance to the general election.

If this is the state of the California republican party, is it any wonder why our politics are dominated by democrats?

It's like nightmare material. :chris:

On the other hand, I swear there is a surreal horror/absurdist movie premise hiding in there somewhere.

All I have to say about Fiorina's ad campaign is.. "Stop Destroying the Ruins!".

Not content with the decimation of HP, she wants to stir her fingers in our government next and make outsourcing ever more popular. Because we all love to try to solve problems with someone on a crackly phone line with a thick accent and little actual skill beyond a teleprompter...

This ad ought to do well with that proportion of the voting public that is so log-stupid that they really believe our current budget trouble began in 2005. And who like to see pictures of sheep.

We Californians continue to be abused by out state govt.
We are "Scroomed"! ( screwed+doomed )
Our state is broke and the tax base is leaving for Texas.
Fiorina is not the answer. She is trying to buy votes with her wealth and if elected will find governing Cali will be like running on sand dunes without paddle tires.
Our state govt is literally crap and need a political enema. INHO.
Old guard R's and D's need to go! Vote them out people!

You mean she'll be just as effective and loved as she was at HP?
