About the same as a [REALLY] GOOD SKS I would say. That is to say anywhere from 3-6 MOA on average. There are ways to improve the accuracy. I can't comment on the one I shot, because it spent more time jamming up then it did shooting (bad mag).

I own a mini and first off, I wouldn't say that it shoots only as good as sks's. I've never personnally seen an sks shoot 3" groups at 100. all I've seen is shotgun like groups-holes all over the target. my mini when it still had the factory barrel on it would shoot 1.5-2.5" groups with factory loads.

I should point out that 3" groups are NOT typical of an SKS, nor are 1.5" groups from a Mini-14. I was just pointing out the average from what I have seen.

My SKS gets ~2.5" groups...at 50 yards :D ;)

I have an sks and it's a fun rifle. I'm looking into mini 14, but rumors said it's not that good. So any info will be much much help. Thanks

I would not put accuracy and
Mini 14 or 30 in the same sentence.

A Kel-tec SU-16CA is a nice option if you want a plunking gun. It has better accuracy then a Mini and a SKS and it take AR/M-16 mags. I was able to shoot a Sub MOA (under 1 inch) at 100 yards with mine and a 4X scope.

Or you might want to wait till the RX4 comes out, it will most likely be a very nice weapon even if it ain't all that sexy.

My Mini 14, SKS, and civvie M1 Carbine all shoot pretty close to the same accuracy; that is, not great, but passable. I haven't done a formal side-by-side with them, but that's my gut feel after putting a fair number of rounds through everything but the Mini.

If you want an accurate .223 semi-auto plinker, build or buy a Ca legal AR-style. If you want a more affordable one that's still reasonably accurate, the SU16's about the best bet. The Mini comes in last, in my experience, but others have had better luck, as they've stated.

The Mini 14 can be fitted with a heavy barrel, it isn't easy, and the action is a scaled down M 14 and is rugged, it can be a decent semi auto rifle. This is Ca. after all, our selection is limited.
