Hi Scott, do you carry the Vortex SPARC, or have any reviews/info/price on this optic, thanks, Art.

We can carry it, but I wasn't all thaty excited about it. It's a smaller Strikefire for more money.

Good to know, thanks for the info., I thought with the higher price there might have been some improvements.

Not sure what those were...it had similar controls in a smaller setup.

Maybe the extra money for the Sparc was to eliminate the clover of a dot on my Strikefire?

I doubt it. Both are Chinese made.

Hey Scott. Now that you're carrying the Sparc, do you have any feedback / range reports for someone seriously considering making the purchase? I like the idea of the versatility of the 2x screw on magnifier but am wondering how good it is. Also, the prices I've seen are around $200, and I've been hanging back waiting for someone to have a special.

Thanks!

The 2x magnifier increases magnification at the expense of smaller FOV. As for the price, **&&%%#!!+ doesn't anyone realize we discount for Calgunners????

I've seen a few reviews that say the 2x magnifier is really like a 2.5x. Any truth to this?

I've also heard that with the magnifier on, the eye relief gets down to about an inch. Any feedback on either?

And since you mention it...what type of discount are we talking about here?

Just picked one up.
I like how it has a 2MOA dot and you can add flip up covers. Also that it includes a 2x magnifier and mount/shims. Feels solid and quality looks rather good. I can't say if it'll hold up to the same kind of abuse as an Aimpoint but with a lifetime warranty that Vortex offers, I have no problems testing it out.

The 2x magnifier closes viewing width down by about 20-25% but works great for magnification. There's no real loss in brightness and to my surprise, no noticeable eye relief. I didn't expect that. Since the lens inside the magnifier are so close together, there's no noticeable vignetting either. I really like it!

Like I said, I JUST got it so I haven't mounted it yet. But when I do, I'll post up my thoughts. So far, it seems like a great buy. Even compared to a Primary Arms.

Pros
2x Magnifier included
Flip up cover compatible (I believe Butler Creek #4's from what I've read on ARFCOM)
Mounts with shims included
Wide controls to the left doesn't really get in the way when both eyes are open
Apparently they're less than 1" parallax under 50yds and no parallax beyond 50yds
Tint in the glass is barely noticeable
2nd from lowest (excluding NV mode) seems fairly bright and brightest setting is bright enough to see when I point it directly at my 60 watt bedroom light.
6hr auto shut off
Lifetime Warranty

Cons
No case for the 2x magnifier
2x magnifier has to be threaded on
No QD mount included (But who includes QD mounts :p)
Windage and Elevation caps have metal wire holding them so you don't lose the caps but they get in the way of removing and tightening the caps
CR2354 batteries? Really? I've never seen these before. It's almost a 1/4" thick! But I guess they hold the most juice for a lithium cell battery
