Hello fellas,
I would like to start my first AR build. I wanted to keep the original looks of the M16/AR-15, with full lenght barrel, triangular handguards, fixed stock, triangular flash hider. Rambo style(lol). Where can I start? With regards to brand, I prefer mid priced high quality parts. Suggestions? Thanks

You'd probably be best off purchasing a SP1 or 604 style upper. There are plenty of them on www.GunBroker.com. They are made by Colt so quality is top notch.

If your interested in the accuracy of your retro build, I would suggest taking a look around here (http://retroblackrifle.pullig.com/)

You can find lower receivers that will match the upper at Nodakspud (http://nodakspud.com/AR%20Lowers.htm).

Are you looking to build from scratch or do you just want to purchase a KISS complete upper and go from there?

What's your price range?

Budget wise more or less 1K. Matching brand/parts preferred.

If you're going partial retro, may as well go all in... Josh posted the best thing to do - slickside retro.
