Will a rail height mount front sight work with this gas block? it is a little higher than normal gas block rails but a few tenths of an inch shorter than rail height. this will be going on a beowulf with a rear carry handle sight and the max i will be going out is 200 yards.

I want to go with the Troy flip up battlesight if that helps. I want the m4 style and they only carry it in rail mount.

No.

No.

So the rail sight would hit it's limit going up? I am using an a2 sight in the rear that has elevation as well, couldn't I drop that down all the way to compensate? I only ask because this gas rail is higher then other gas block rails I have seen, it's about 2-3 tenths from rail height.

The rear sight is zeroed when it's ALL THE WAY DOWN.

You could use that gas block with a rail height front sight, but you won't be able to zero much closer than about 800yds.

Damn! I need 200 yards and in. I wish Troy made a gas block height m4 sight.

You can also switch to a rail height gas block (MI).

I had one of those YHM sights and it was cut wrong.

i can't switch gas blocks because it is a 50 beowulf (odd sized), if i found a gas block i would go lopro and do a full rail.

hahaha, gotta love alexander arms about now for those 0.907" gas blocks...

I have opened up Armalite 0.875" railed gas blocks to fit those barrels.
That would give you a standard height rail.

I could also turn down your gas block to fit under a freefloat handguard system.

You'd know pretty quick. The sights wouldn't align.

I probably should have sent it back, but I ended up getting a whole different set-up anyways.

THis was back when flip-up sights were only from a handful of sources.

You could always use one of these:

Then put your sight on top of it.
