View Full Version : Should I 922r my SLR95?

I've been thinking about changing furniture on my SLR95. Right now it's got an Ultimak upper handguard, original Arsenal lower handguard, and a glass-filled nylon Dragunov stock. Of course, all the original parts are safely kept...uuhhh...safe.

Problem is, this rifle runs great as-is. Changes made would be for appearance only. I'm afraid if I change out parts that already work 100%, for US-made parts, I'd make it less reliable.

What are you guy's thoughts...will a parts change really screw things up?

Yes you would have to comply with 922r if you add a pistol grip. There are US made parts that have nothing to do with the function of the rifle. Even changing out the fire control group would not effect it, it's an AK.
What exactly did you want to change?

I was wanting to change from the Dragunov stock to a separate pistol grip/buttstock. My concern is changing out the required parts to make it 922r compliant...think it'll degrade reliability at all? I'd hate to change out the original parts, then find their non-stock replacements would keep it from running 100%.
