Since there are several different types thought maybe a guru here might be able to assist me in find a FSB to fit this little gem I found at the gun show today. Looks like the bayonet lug keeps it in place, but its forward, all the FSBs I found have it in the rear.

Looks like it's for a sks by the size of the square..

Maybe you can put a sks fsb on the ak barrel?:D

It could be.

nmib, what type of AK rifle do you have now? Are you positive that brake is for an AK?

Saiga, but I am converting it. When I saw this, two things went through my mind. One, I wouldnt have to tap my barrel and second, if i went featureless the brake could be quickly removed and I would 110% be within the law.

That brake will be legal for both a featurless and evil-ness configuration. Any AKM front sight should work with that brake. It clamps down onto the cleaning rod holder, for a lack of a better word, under the front sight base. What do you mean by "tap your barrel"?

It must be for a sks or nagant. There is a channel milled out that looks like it's for a cleaning rod to clear. Plus the ports should be facing up also. The part with the bolts is the top part. So the square is not right for akm fsb.

You're right. This is the top OP.

This is an AKM front sight base. There's no way it will fit.

It's .86 inch in length.

For reference.

Just pop an AK-74 front sight base on there and call it a day.

But then won't the two holes designed to compensate against muzzle rise be pointing towards the ground, therefore increasing muzzle rise?

I'm looking at an AK FSB right now, and can't see how this is meant to fit on to it correctly.

I forgot where those holes were supposed to be located. :p
