View Full Version : 45-70 round for Marlin 1895

Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive 45-70 practice round for my Marlin 1895? I have some of the Hornady Leverevolution rounds and while they are accurate, they are a bit pricey to be my practice round. Thanks.

My 1895G loves plain ol' Remington 300 grn hollow points.

I'd like to start reloading, just need to take the jump and start doing it. Remington 300? I'll have to see where I can buy it since i can't get it online now right?

That, or you can try Cabelas bulk back of 45-70 with lead bullets.

Nothing I'd ever shoot since I reload;). But if you need something right away that's cheap (and I mean cheap on more ways than one) they'll do in a pinch.

I once loaded some 500 grain lead bullets in that gun. Do yourself a favor and do not do that.
