Not sure if this is a dupe, but I hadn't seen or heard any mention of it until I just now visited Rock River's site.

Also, I know this is a pistol, but it's built on the AR platform... so... there's that.

This thing looks pretty slick to me - not sure if I prefer the Robinson Arms one or this one. I guess the Rob Arms one is at least built on a proven system, BUT RRA has been around quite awhile...

Well...

Two down sides. One being its ugly as sin...Two being its an 8in barrel with a 1/9 twist. I'd personally rather have a Diablo or LWRC, to each their own.

It is ugly, but I like it.

Not sure why, but I like the way it looks... maybe because it reminds of an updated version of the Walther MPK? ...non-reciprocating side-charger is kinda nice too!

Maybe a hoax seeing as it's 5.56/.223 without a reciever extension, could be a 22LR, thats my bet.

Maybe a hoax seeing as it's 5.56/.223 without a reciever extension, could be a 22LR, thats my bet.what would be a hoax about it not having a reciever extension? If it is set up to have the recoil spring over the barrel, it doesn't need one behind the bolt carrier.

Olympic Arms made a similar .223 AR pistol in the past, and Para is offering an AR-pattern rifle with a folding stock (recoil system is in the upper).

1/9? They should of gone 1/12, a 8" bbl will be a 50 metre effective range, you would want light and FASSSST as possible, maybe even 40gr or lighter.
Lack of rear extention is correct, this is the 2nd gen gas piston I asked about a year and half ago, future AR's will have folding stocks, like the AR18 based rifles. Neat stuff!! I like the handguard, M203 esque.

The simple fact of the matter is you lost three parts but gained probably triple that, as well as adding a complex sub-assembly to the gun. It's a solution, and potential additional problem, to a problem that doesn't exist. And to be honest, I think one of the greatest advantages of the AR pistol is the fact that it has a receiver extension.

A folding stock is a nice feature in confined spaces - like vehicles.

Done right there need not be any addition of parts.

However, though the look of an AR pistol is much nicer without the extension, it serves a very nice purpose from a practical standpoint.

Handled it at SHOT and it is a nice piece. It's not at the top of my list, but I'd still get one. I did think to myself that they could have made the charging handles a little bit bigger.
I found it okay to manipulate with a bare hand, but if you were wearing gloves the handles may feel a bit small.

Are they gonna make a rifle version? I really really really really want a folding stock !!!! I guess I could get a pistol version upper and just put a longer barrel on it...

You still have to make 30" collapsed.

Get a .22lr.

CA legality? IIRC, RRA recievers are banned, at least the AR-15s anyway. This is at least different enough in design that it could be argued to not be the listed RRA AR-15 receiver.

RRA is listed by configuration.
RRA lowers aren't listed.

I'll settle for just the upper - add it to my pistol lower, then if I ever escape to a free state, SBR it!

I would be VERY interested if they sold this as just a pistol upper...

Probably will cost an arm and a leg though.

Not on a RAW gun... :D Which is why I'm oh so interested. All the current ones just cost too damn much.

Thank you for the video NSR !!! YAY 2010 rifle version. I hope that the hideous hand guard can be changed out.

Yeah what is up with the hand guards? I like the not having a buffer tube, but I still like my RRA Standard Pistol Lower I have now.

Max from Precision Sports has some on order already :)

I won't know until they ship, but suggested retail is looking like $1,325. I'd think we could be closer to the $1,200 mark, but until they invoice me I won't know.

Thanks,
Max

I fondled one of these at the SHOT show also and definitely want one - if money were no object I would already have had it sent to a middleman for a bullet button and bobsled mag install. It sucks to be poor...

I like it minus the hand guard, I was really interested in a sig 556 cause it didn't have the buffer tube. If this thing is cheaper than a sig 556 I would rock it without a doubt.

I'd mount my Surefire there with the Batman symbol on the lens... Psychological warfare! No thug wants to wait for Batman to get there...

Yes and yes, but no need to "get away from the RRA Lower" as long as it is not marked identically to a lower already banned by name.

I would rather go with a lwrc or pof, but at least the RRA is cheaper. Plus the hand guard is pretty gross looking. They really need to change that out if can. I really like the ambi side charging handles. Really good idea. Wished more AR15 companies would adopt those.

I was also curious, why the upper is not compatible with other lowers?

Lower is not banned. Only 6 named guns by rock river are banned. As for how it would be legal, a single shot magazine and a bullet button and of course a willing and capable dealer to help you with the transfer.

The PPS looks cool, (handguard notwithstanding) The LWRCI PSD is the best( for what you spend on it)

Any one want a 6.8PSD??

I'd better start saving now in case they make a 7.62 version.
