i tend to have a couple different types of lubes and solvents and other liquids that i like to take to the range, but decided that i dont need a WHOLE QUART of one item. so i did some research and found this little sight and heres my review.

SpecialtyBottle.com

i ordered a few 2oz. bottles with flip tops ($0.25 each). but the company has a HUGE variety of bottles and containers

they are very durable and are the perfect size (to me) for range use.

me (being anal) labeled them up and covered the label with box tape to protect them

the bottles also fit perfectly into my Midway USA comp. range bag. the bag has 6 little places that fit the bottles perfectly

sorry for ranting, i just felt these have served me well and i should share with you guys.

for size reference heres a bottle next to 1 quart of oil

i hope this comes in handy to some, and im not affiliated with this company at all for the record.

I put some Hoppe's No. 9 into a container like that once and after a few weeks I decided to take it out of it because my room reeked of the distinct smell. I love the smell of Hoppe's while I'm cleaning, but not to a point where I get a headache when I walk into the room.

I have also found the bottles like that in CVS, Walgreens, Longs (if they are still around), in the make-up and Hair aisle.

+1, I started reading this thread and thought about how I have seen these bottles at CVS.

I work at CVS and I haven't seen them. But I'm sure they're probably about a dollar each if we do.

How well do these seal? I bought a small spray bottle(hairspray type of sprayer) for hoppes 9 and that sucker LEAKS like no other if it's not upright, stinks up my whole room.

good question, i checked on my hoppies bottle, i flipped it upsidedown and squeezed it and no hoppies came out. SEALS GOOD!

JT- if you buy 20 you will use 20 lol, all my friends are stealing mine.

I got 12, still paid more shipping than on the bottles lol. But hey, it comes out to .66 each. Thats cheaper than I could get at work even with my discount

Btw, high five for mobil 1 as a gun oil, I use it too. Stays wet and in place better than other lubes I've tried.

Jt- it works out good if you buy more than a couple. And yea the mobil 1 works great, i had 10w-30 laying around but I want to give 15w-50 a try

You guys seriously need to get into the eco-groovy non toxic hippy gun cleaners. That #7 will dry clean your lungs.

These products honestly work better than any of the harsh chemicals, are completely safe for your barrel and your kids to inhale...

Slip 2000 EWL (http://www.slip2000.com/slip2000-EWL.html)(Extreme Weapons lube) I know I read somewhere that Picatinny run all their ARs with it and did a test with an AR firing 10,000 rounds before jamming (I just can't seem to find the article). It also soaks into the barrel and displaces moisture and your old & busted lubes. Seriously amazing stuff, oh and Blackwater uses it at their training facility.

Bortech Cu2+ (http://www.boretech.com/products/copperremover.shtml) If you think the EWL is cool this stuff will blow your mind! After you've stroked most of your carbon out of your barrel with the EWL run 3-4 patches of this through it and let it sit for a few hours, there will be absolutely NO copper in your barrel. It's scary effective and has no odor or harmful fumes and is completely biodegradeable, no ammonia, they even recommend you run a patch through before long term storage but I prefer the EWL for that.

Lastly for those who think a good day at the range starts at 1000 rounds you should get some of Slip2000's Carbon Killer (http://www.slip2000.com/carbonkiller.html#).

I've also read some promising stuff about Gunzilla but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I pretty much just use EWL and EWG (Extreme Weapons Grease) on my HK and EWL, EWG and Boretech on the .308 rifles. As soon as the AR is built I'll be using those two and Carbon Killer as well.

If it wasn't 10$ for 4 oz, when I can get 8x the oil for less than half :)

I'm sure it's good stuff, but I don't have a problem cleaning my guns.

It your lungs you should be concerned about, the oil's not great but it won't hurt you like that Hoppes #7 will. especially if you're not using it outdoors.
Live longer=shoot longer

I clean outside, except for that once like I mentioned.

Well, I still recommend the Bore Tech, it'll be the same price as the Hoppes in the long run because you need less of it to do the same job.
