Assault weapon or not? Should it be banned?
It certainly looks evil. Uses an AR-15 lower. And the name...OMG! TAC-15??? :D

Well, under current law, I couldn't even own this then since it requires an AR-15 platform lower receiver.

Yeah, I would like it too.

put it on an 80% receiver and just finish what needs to be done to make the crossbow work. Don't clear the magwell etc....

If you watch the updated video they mention in the description on the actual youtube page, you'll see they made an integrated one so you don't need an AR-15 lower to use one.

A crossbow bolt would be silent and pierce some soft body armor. Sounds evil....better hurry up and ban it! I hear a million puppies and kittens crying out in horror as we speak.

Does it have a barrel shroud?

Hell, even a listed AR receiver with a crossbow upper is a legal device ;)

I don't think Theseus' concerns were with Roberti-Roos or SB23.

Another hint about a subtle, oh-so-evil plot hiding somewhere in Gene's file cabinet. I think perhaps Gene is trying for the part of the Bebe Glazer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bebe_Glazer) of gun rights. :43:

Until he manages to beat the rap, he got stuck with a no guns kind of restriction, last I heard. It sucks. :(

7x57Yup, I love it when Gene drops little clues like that regarding the future. Makes one think "where's he going with that". :43:

No Gene and I were talking about some other matters, just in respect to Alison and the OP.

So can an AR lower with this crossbow upper attached be mailed directly to oh say me, since it is not a gun??? Interesting little device...

Yes, it made the common man equal on the field of battle and brought an end to the nobility's elite trained knights. You see it's resurgence even metaphorically? :D

It will go the way of the blowgun in California if brought to the attention of the Uber Nannies.

If that is correct (and in particular, not an assertion waiting for a test case to prove), then I have some "crossbows" in another state that I'd like to bring back home... :chris:

Trebuchet's are full of win but seriously when do they release the semi-automatic version? That's when I'll sign up and get one.
