Read the first article linked. There is currently no Lt Gov appointed in the State of California

Nor should there ever be considering he would get paid 120k/yr or so to do less work than a DMV drone.

Another thing for people in other states to laugh at us for -- we declare states of emergency because *gasp* there's water falling from the sky.

Well, not everywhere else... but have you ever been in Houston?
Even without a hurricane, I remember driving to the airport once in a rental car when it was raining. The water had turned the road into a mini-river. I remember thinking to myself as the water was coming up the fenders "gee, this probably isn't a good idea"....

Luckily, I managed to fjord to the other side w/ no harm done.

ahhhhh declaring a state of emergency is just another way for them to get their hands into the emergency fund.

Then when the water receeds they say oh well wasn't as bad as we thought then it goes to line their pockets.

Umm, Yeah. Pretty normal sight just about every year at some point along the Mississippi or Missouri River valleys.

I was stationed at Ft Knox when the Ohio River decided to flood back in 97, couldn't take the normal highway to Louisville for over a month.

Pretty much looks like that any time it rains in the SFV.

Should somebody notify Linda Ronstadt that she is now acting Governor's girlfriend again?

Maybe to get him some face time in front of the cameras without having to pay big money.
Ronstadt is a kook. She is a huge fan of Michael Moore's and refers to him as her 'desperado'. Barf

With all do respect, my mom lives in La Canada and when you have a rain soaked fire stripped hill of mud looming behind your home at a 60 degree angle it could turn into a state of emergency real quick. Better to have the resources in play and not need them, then the alternative.

Hey Ronstadt was HOT back then....

I think it would be fair to say the Ahnold has been "acting" governor for quite a while.

As Mssr. Elegante has shown, yes she was! So what if she's a kook? It wasn't her mind that grabbed my interest.

He's just getting ready for the end result...being governor again. Its gonna happen. I am not a democrat, but Brown actually represents what little chance we have to save this messed up state. All you have to do is look at how he performed before...he is fiscally conservative and is pro 2nd amendment (thats that pesky-red-headed-step-child amendment that makes it possible to keep our other amendments..).

Moonbeam?
As Governor, Brown proposed the establishment of a state space academy and the purchasing of a satellite that would be launched into orbit to provide emergency communications for the state—a proposal similar to one that would indeed eventually be adopted by the state. In 1978 an out-of-state columnist, Mike Royko, then at the Chicago Sun-Times, nicknamed Brown "Governor Moonbeam" because of the latter idea. The nickname quickly became associated with his quirky politics[citation needed], which were considered eccentric by some in California and the rest of the nation[citation needed]. In 1992, almost 15 years later, Royko would disavow the nickname, proclaiming Brown to be "just as serious" as any other politician.

The perfect candidate? Maybe not. The best possible candidate this time around? You bet. All you need to do is look at the alternative candidates and see that Brown needs to be elected. Take some time and research your candidates for a change and quit voting stupid...why do you think we are in the mess we are in now? Arnold was a total failure.....And our Republican party has not a clue in this next Ca Race....Dont be a dupe-Moron again...

Gee..... since he's so pro gun why doesn't he just repeal and veto everything thats been done to us over the last few years while he's there
come-on koolade drinkers just a swipe of the pen,,nothing for a true "politician" to do,,after all they do it all the time

if they can do it in Mass. we can do it here

Yes, the Hands of Time are indeed grasping little thieves. Still, she had it at one time & that's more than most ever get.

But, on to a serious question. I'm going to re-register as a Dem. so that I can vote for JB in the primaries. What's the latest I can do that? I ask because I don't want to be a Dem. for a minute longer than I have to be, but I still want to do what I can to get JB back in office.
