Hello All,

I have my eye on a 1919a4 kit

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154631959

The seller states in the add

"No shipment to California (please vote the bums out of office who made sales of black metal pieces to this state a legal nightmare). All other states are OK. Believe it or not, this gun does not fall under the assault weapon category and with disintegrating links you can adopt to whatever the local "wisdom" about magazine capacity is."

I sent him a email explaining that its a kit and since it does not have high cap mags its good to go. I also sent him the AW id flow chart. He wants further clarification. He states in the email.

"What I want to avoid is having to appear in court in CA because of some obscure law that some item cannot be sold/shipped to CA residents"

I did a search on kits and couldn't find the applicable law quoted all I could find was this link.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=226822&highlight=kit+legal

Can someone help with this? this guy will start selling to Ca if I help spell it out quoting the law.

He is actually a nice guy just not sure about our laws. He at least had the decency to email me back the same day explaining his situation. He apologized for sounding like he didn't care about our issues and said he would change his stance if I helped lay out the law. I don't want to bash him as I invited him to visit Calguns and hope to make a new fiend.

Thanks,
Rob

Find a place like Atlantic Firearms or someone else that ships complete 1919's into CA and show him those.

I just finished DROS of a complete 1919A4 from these guys:

http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1459

Their page even says "All 1919A4's are 50 state legal"

Talk directly to Don at extension 104 if you have questions.

You can't find and post any relevant penal code section, because there isn't any. They're just not illegal. Period.

But for what it's worth, you can tell him that you know a guy who along with his girlfriend has a matching set of 1919A4's in the state of California :)

save yourself time, money and headaches by checking in on the 1919a4.com forum. Guys have kits there for sale in $450 range and complete kits with semi-auto parts in the $625 range. Plus you will find lots of help as well by the guys on the forum.
