Okay, so I understand that in the case of UOC, you must also keep magazines in the open per case law (People v. Hale) saying that the magazine is an essential part of the firearm.

Would this be the same in the condition of LUCC? If the gun were in the locked container, could the loaded magazine be anywhere else besides the locked container?

Could it be openly carried in a mag pouch?
Could it be in a mag pouch concealed under a shirt?
Could it be thrown in a pocket?

Now, just hypothetically, what if you were to be carrying a loaded (or even empty for that matter) magazine, but no firearm?
Would that be considered a concealed weapon, since it's considered an "essential component" to a firearm per People v. Hale?

If the mag is in a locked container then it is a non issue. The same with any other way of transporting.
