I have often wondered what is the best way to label standard magazines (GI boxes, AR 20/30, Ruger Mini 20/30)?

I would like to put my name and cal on the floorplate, but I do not want to purchase new floorplates and have them engraved.

It is just a smart thing to do, and avoids getting magazines mixed up when pals get together.

Is there a better way to do this?

I would like to avoid using a "sticker".

Do you guys use a paint marker?

Sharpie? Permanent ink, and writes on most surfaces.

Do you guys use a paint marker? I just use a Dynamo Lable Tool. Lebels come in many colors and sizes. Easy to change and is not permanent.;)

Thank you for the suggestions. The sharpie sounds logical.

Good idea, albeit expensive. I've found that Sharpies are less than permanent, they eventually wear off.

That may be true with the Sharpie's, but man is it inexpensive! :)

I like nail polish, just tell them you stole it from the wife. Put a stripe in one of the grooves, works well for me.

I went to wipe down a GI box magazine today. I had labeled the floorplate with a black fine point Sharpie. I was hoping to shoot next week when the rain stops. I wiped down the magazine with some Hoppe's and the Sharpie ended up on the rag.

I ordered six (to start with) GI floorplates which I will have engraved with my intitials and a number. :)

I let it dry for at least 24 hrs? I think Hoppe's just may be very good solvent. :)
