Is this too good to be true?

http://www.impactguns.com/store/S-SP2022-9-BS.html

Is Impact Guns a reputable dealer?

NO, its a sig pro 2022. Topgunsupply and budsgunshop were selling them for about $400 in the last 6 weeks. I now have 3 of them, 2 9mm and a .40. Well worth the price and built like tanks.

Are you being sarcastic? It says it's a Sigarms firearm. I smell lawsuit if they did that.

He's just being sarcastic. He does have a point though. The guns are have eerily similar dimensions, weight, and mechanisms.

There's only so many different ways you can make a short recoil locked breech semi auto pistol so no lawsuit would ever fly.
Other examples: Keltec PF-9 vs Ruger LCP.
Did a lawsuit result from that? Nope.

As for affordable Sigs, 1.5 years ago you could pick up a 9mm Sig P225 for $250 on the surplus market.

Yeah, he's just being sarcastic. I think the point he's trying to make is that Sig might have copied the design of the USP Compact to came up with the SigPro series.

ehh..they're not that similar..if you say, "they fire bullets" then yea, ok ill concede to that kind of pointless argument..but otherwise, they're not similar when you really look at them...

i've shot both the USP Compact and the Sig Pro 2022 and while they may look alike they are in fact very different in feel and functionality...mostly the 2022 just feels better in the hand.

the USP compact is a dated design and a better comparison would be the P2000

although i don't care for the 2022, i like the Sig 228 better, i will concede that it is a "sleeper" in the Sig line. it has a very good trigger out of the box...so good that GGI didn't think it worth putting together a package for it...and is very accurate. FWIW this is the gun that the French selected in their last large contract.

i'm pretty sure you can still get them for around $400...check www.SCPFirearms.com in Florida and www.TopGunSupply.com in Ohio.

i thought your post was about the LE trade-in 226s on the market for $449

9mm - yes this discussion has taken a turn for a 4th gun to consider. For $434 for a brand new sig compared to a ruger sr9 for $399 or a used 226 LE trade-in for $449 I think I would go with the new 2022 9mm.

If anyone can convince me to not go with the SP2022 please let me know.

Thanks

The 2022's are nice. I'll eventually pick one up as I do like both polymer and all metal frames.

Just buy what you really like. No need for us to convince you.;)

Having said that, the 2022 is very nice & the used 226 is also very, very nice.

the sig pro 2022 enjoys a great reputation and is truly a "best buy" combat handgun.... i still look no further than my old w german P series sigs for myself but the sig pro is one of the few newer offerings by sig that i would consider purchasing.

I have one in 40S&W and if I didnt have other priority expenses and if my 30-day wait was over by now, i would buy.

what's the difference between the 2022 and the 250 besides the .01 or whatever in barrel length?

I have a SP2022 in 40 S&W and love it. All my friends that have gone to the range with me all spoke highly of it and two became owners after the range.

The diff. between the 2022 and 250 is that the 250 is DAO and about 3oz lighter. Oh, the DA pull on the 2022 is 10lb and the 250 is 6ib. That's according to measurements from my guns. (2) 2022 in 9mm, 1 2022 in .40 (5oz heavier than the 250 in 9mm) and 1 250 in 9mm.

Let me put it this way... Most shooters who shoot a 2022 end up buying one. Great quality and value.
SIG factory night sights and 2 magazines for under $500 is pure win.

9mmepiphany

the Sig 250 is a completely different concept

the "gun" is the metal chassis, which is transferable between different sized frames, slides and calibres...without DROSing a new gun

These are reasons why I bought a SP2022 (my first handgun). No regrets with my purchase and if anyone out there is still holding out on a Sig Pro, please try them out. If you have a taste for a DA/SA trigger and a decocker but are on a budget, a Sig Pro is hard to beat.

Check with CDNN and Bud's as they usually have killer prices on the 2022. For CDNN don't mention you're a Californian because you have to use a middleman FFL.

10rd .40 SigPro mags at CDNN are only 9 bucks too.

I called ImpactGuns and the gun is out of stock!! I notice this is a classic "trick" by most online sites where you can search for their guns at amazing prices and only to find out they're out of stock.

Ballistic043
01-20-2010, 12:38 PM
or maybe they are out of stock DUE to the low prices.. just a thought

bad marketing ploy if you want to sell a gun. so what happens when the guy answers the phone and says "sorry none in stock" well you hang up and take your business to a place that does. and curse them for not updating their site information. so how is that exactly a trick and not just a plain old nuisance? :)

i guess some people force themselves into a stupid position! "oh well, since i cant get the sig for that price, ill buy another for 200 more. hook it up!"

natomasboy

Well it's both a nuisance and somewhat deceptive. How is it that they have other items clearly marked Out of stock where this one in big bold green letters that says Available? According to the rep they have been "out of stock for weeks."

In any case my 9mm search continues..

I tried to order a heatshield for my Mossberg 500 from Impact Guns. I had the same issue of the website saying "In Stock," but when I called to check on my order, it was "Out of stock."

IMO, stay away...

All I have to add is, I love my sp2022. If I had the money, I'd buy another.
