Considering an FN Five-Seven, just curious how readily available the 5.7x28mm cartridges are?

Thanks!

I get mine at Cabela's, typically order 500 rds at a time when its on sale, usually at about $19 or so for a box of 50. Never seen it out of stock. Local prices are just too steep.

My FiveSeven is quickly becoming one of my favorite guns.

5.7 x 28, 7.62 x 25mm, .45 GAP were the only few rounds that weren't affected by the post '08 election panic.

lowriderryda might have some for sale. Try sending him a pm. He's got good prices.

Most large online ammo places have it in stock for about $19.99 a box of 50, I got a case of 2000 for $799. Cabella's has a nice deal where they will throw in a free plastic ammo case for every 250 rounds. Check out: Cabellas', Cheaperthandirt.com, Midwayusa, cdnnsports.com, etc.

I've always seen it available in my local shops or online. ;)

Easier to find than most other common calibers with now.

Usually about .038/round, but the price is going up. Was under 0.25/round a year ago.

Cabela's always has them. Almost every gun store in my area has them too.

I have been buying from Sportsmans Guide. With the club price, it's pretty darn cheap. Always in stock too...

SS197SR -- the one with the blue polymer tip -- seems to be pretty easy to find online. SS195LF, the hollow point with lead-free primers, is somewhat less so, probably because a lot of people bought them up and sent them to Elite Ammunition to get converted into stronger loads.

As others have said - it's very available. Just don't pay more than $20 for a box of 50.

Grafs has it for $17.59 (LF) or $17.39 (Blue Tip)/box at the dealer (03 FFL) price...

I've never had a problem finding it locally. Plenty of deals to be had online as well.

Thanks everyone in helping me make my decision! I'll be picking up my FN Five-Seven in 10 days! Ample supply of 5.7x28mm cartridges available helped me make up my mind... not to mention the $850 for a LNIB Five-Seven
:cheers2:

Good choice and great price! Just bought my 5.7 yesterday. One of my deciding factors was the availability of ammo.

Very good price...you won't be disappointed!

Now all you need is a PS90 or an AR57 upper! :D
