Ok so my new XD40 4in full size is coming home tomorrow (:willy_nilly:) and I need some holster suggestions, im looking for a inside pants holster for work at the shop, and a normal belt holster for shoots and outings etc. I have seen the blackhawk holsters and they seem nice, I love the locking mechanism and its not too cumbersome. Is there something nicer im missing? and I am completely lost when it comes to inner waistban holsters, what you got CalGuns?

congrats on the new XD to a local ventura guy. I have the blackhawk serpa cqc holster and it is great for range use.

This you can't go wrong with and can be found for a good price.

There are lots of other options depending on how much money you are willing to spend. Safariland comes to mind but they are going to be up there in price. The real question for you is how much are willing to spend and what features you are looking for. That goes the same for IWB holsters as well.

Thanks, I was looking at one of these at Battlefield today and surprisingly enough it was not over priced, im willing to spend 150 for both holsters but right now my budget is kinda limited, a custom one would be awesome but its too much time and money right now...

Shot a handful of IDPA matches with the blackhawk CQB holster (left handed), and it is a quick delivery system. Can't complain, price is competative with other holsters out there. Try it out at the gunstore, before you purchase if you can.

Don Hume H721 O.T. or standard H721 can be found on line for $40, basic but does the job.

Blackhawk Serpa QDC

I'll second this suggestion. I have Serpa level 2 CQC holsters for other guns and they work very well. I get my XD40 out of jail on Thursday, and I know that this will be my main OWB holster.

For IWB, I like the Comp-tac Minotaur. For gun games, I like the Blade-Tech DOH SRB.

I prefer the Safariland 6377/6378 over the Serpa.
The XD rattles in the Serpa. The Safariland is lined and sits closer to the body.

blackhawk serpa works great. hunted with it and doesnt matter which XD9/XD40/XD45 I use it fits and best is pressing the little tab on side to release your hg from holster when you want to use it.

Another + for the Supertuck by Crossbreed. The owner, Mark, is easy to work with and builds a good product. I have carried my XDSC 9mm in a Supertuck for over 4yrs. and really like the holster.

Mark is also the new owner of http://xdtalk.com

and you can go there if you want to ask him questions directly or just call the company.

Another +1 for the crossbreed supertuck. I have one for my XD compact .45 and it worked great for me when I carried.
