My sister was up in Reno for fun with her friend this past weekend. On way back I asked to stop by Cabela's outside of Reno to pick up some .22 federal bulk packs.

She called me once she got there and said, she can't find any. I initially thought they were sold out. I asked if it all gone, no, she said there was 'just too many brands and boxes to look at.' Winchester 555, Federal Eagle, CCI, etc. Just all lots of .22 brands in general.

She said there were stacks of everything. Eventually she did find .22 federal bulk pack for 20.99. I asked her pick up 5 boxes, and she said is that it? There's tons of it. Not bad, not Wally mart prices, but at least it's in stock. I suspect the closer we get to Feb 2011, the more runs to Reno I'll be making!

My sister did mention there was plenty of other ammo too. Pistol, rifles etc. She doesn't know enough about firearms to tell me details. Just stacked boxes every where. If it's an indication of price, 5 boxes of the Federal bulk online at cableas is $85, so about 17 a box. Add another 20 - 30% for in store fee to cover the shipping over head.

Well sounds like we all should go up there and help relieve Cabelas of too much ammo. :rofl2:

This will most likely change the closer we get to 2/2011

I agree with your sister, that's it?. I heading up to Northstar sometime in the next couple of week and plan on buying some;) of that Federal champion.

stock up while you can. Ammo is only going to get more expensive. Then once the bill (date) passes, we will really get raped on prices by the local shops (IMHO). Probably why most shops don't seem overly concerned about 962 (Edit- From a bottom line perspective). 962 will only net local shops more money.

A little over a week ago I was at Scheels outside of Reno and their WWB was about $25

Funny you mention this, I was just at that Cabelas on Saturday. :) Lots of AR-15 stuff and surplus ammo at decent prices. I was hoping to obtain some 32 rnd rebuild kits for my M9 but had to settle for standard capacity rebuilds.

Oregon is much better if you can get up there. 16.99 for federal bulk packs or wildcat ammo. No tax which makes it even sweeter.

Ask your local shop next time how they feel about 962. Most likely just get shoulders being shrugged because they know whats up. Stack it deep while you can.

When the 962 comes, will there be anything against 1 or 2 of us yokels running out of state (In a van :D ) with a WAD of fellow cal gunners cake and essentially doing a group buy, bringing it back and doling it out?

I was up there a few weeks ago, they had a ton of .22 bulk packs, $20 and plenty of .223 bulk packs for $18 which is cheaper than walmart. I'm not sure about other calibers but they had tons of ammo.

I have a feeling most of us will be taking vacations where we can get cheep ammo.

I visit Reno at least once a month and the Cabelas always has ammo. They have had ammo in stock for at least the past 4 months. Scheel's in Sparks always has ammo as well. There's also a ton of Walmarts within 30 min driving distance that carry ammo.
