Well I'm looking to get a tac light for my G19. I think i'm set on the Streamlight TLR-1. Do you guys think it looks too big for this gun? TLR-3 a better choice?

Or what other tac lights do you guys recommend? I'm in the under $100 price range.

im looking to get the same thing for my g23. i hear the the build quality on the TLR-1 is much better than the TLR-3. The size does concern me. interested in hearing some first hand feedback.

Are you looking for light/laser combo or are you okay with just the light?

I don't want this thing to look too big on the gun. thats my only concern

Have you considered the glock tactical light? $70 isn't bad

I have heard Glocks don't cycle well with lights. Has anyone had trouble with this? Not sure why it would cause problems because it only adds weight to the gun which I think would help.

The cycling issue was with the Glock 22's.

From what I've read on glocktalk, the TLR-3's don't fit the Glock 19's very well because of the length of the rail, so TLR-1 would be the way to go.

I have an Insight SSL on mine, it was something like $ 53 bucks shipped from Springfield Armory a couple of months ago.

I had a TLR-1 on my XD and now have the TLR-3 which is significantly smaller and better balanced on the gun. Sorry to hear it's not a good fit for the Glock.

TLR1 fits the glock frame perfectly. the buttons arent too far forward to prevent smaller hands from using it properly. and if im not mistaken the TLR slightly angles up toward the bore. so when you activate the light on the wall, it completely illuminates your target area within and around the sights. beautiful

the TLR3 is really designed for lighter more compact pistols, like the XD compact or glock compact models

I ended up picking up a TLR-1. Everything that I have heard about the TLR-3 and the G19 isn't too good.

I was considering the Glock Light, but that thing just doesn't look good IMHO

Wait to buy the light, save some more money and buy the Surefire X300. Its a much better light. If you can find a shop that has both the streamlight and the X300 in stock, shine then both side by side and you will see how much better the X300 is. You can also put the light on and take it off without tools unlike the streamlights which you can't.

Streamlight rates the lumen output at the emitter, not what actually leaves the light, Surefire rates their lumens on actual output.

I know you said you want to spend about $100, just shop around and look for deals, I got my X300 for $135 shipped on glocktalk.

+1. I checked out both the Streamlight and Surefire models and ended up spending $75 more to buy a used Surefire just because the Surefire is so much brighter AND the Surefire accepts the DevGroup remote switches, etc.
