Anyone have a Ballester-Molina Argentine made Colt 1911 clone? Friend is offering one to me had got in a boating trade. I have heard nothing but good things about them. From what I hear they are high quality, accurate, but lack the grip safety of a normal 1911. Some people claim their safety mechanism is a better design than colt's. Some of them were used by British Forces.

Anyone have one or know anything more about them?

Bought a Ballester-Molina when I got out of the service in 1971. Paid $40.00 for it at K-Mart. In 1972, I took it F. Bob Chow in San Francisco. He test fired it and offered to buy it from me. He said he had never handled a military surplus .45 as accurate as mine. I still have it.
