I have seen a couple of threads, but I was wondering if anyone had a list of new firearm laws that have or will take place this year???

AB-962 becomes part of the enrolled laws, but does not take effect until February 2010. Everything else that I can think of off the top of my head isn't substantive.

Thanks Gene, I heard something about conceal carry in a National or State park? Do you have any info on this?

wouldn't that be 2011 for the FTF requirement?

Although it was shown to me that portions of 962 start now. For instance, handgun ammo has to be stored away from the public now.

Someone was telling me that parts of 962 are in effect now (1/1/10) dealer ammo storage.
Could we get more detail on this and how it becomes law now instead of in 2011?

Oldbud had this to say about it, http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=3573994&postcount=26 , and I didn't see anything to refute him in a quick look at the code.

2010 or 2011?

Unless otherwise enacted, laws chaptered in one session take effect Jan 1 of the following year.

So, all of 962 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_0951-1000/ab_962_bill_20091011_chaptered.html) is effective now, except SEC. 7. Section 12318 is added to the Penal Code, to read:
12318. (a) Commencing February 1, 2011, the delivery or transfer
of ownership of handgun ammunition may only occur in a face-to-face
transaction with the deliverer or transferor being provided bona fide
evidence of identity from the purchaser or other transferee. A
violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
and the record-keeping requirements.
