The 2006 Northern California Section match is officially taking applications for the match upcoming at the end of April. This year, it is being hosted by Northern California Practical Shooters at the range south of Sacramento near Sloughouse. Match info is available at

http://www.actionpistol.org/gbc2006/gbc2006.htm

I do believe we are actively looking for RO's. Contact info is available on the page above.

There will be 8 stages, but there is no definite round count as yet, there will be more info on the page above as we get closer to the date.

It's looking to be a good match.

Well.. I don't know how many you'll get.. I plan to make it a clean match, but we'll see. I'll be shooting it in Production class with a 40 S&W Sig 229. Should be fun.

do you have to be a member?

I think you have to be a member of USPSA to shoot in a section match since if you win your division for the section and you are in that section, it gets you a slot for next year's nationals, ie win the section in `06, get a slot for `07.

I've never read in the rules where you have to be a member to shoot a sectional. Might be there but I've never noticed it if it is.

Dura,
If you want to shoot a match there's no reason to wait for the GB. There's a couple matches every month at Ione.

I havent decided whether or not to shoot, not shoot, shoot and RO, or just RO. But it will definately be one of those things. ;)

In the rules section at

http://www.actionpistol.org/gbc2006/gbc2006_procedures.htm

here is what is said about membership in USPSA...

CLASSIFICATION: You must be a member of USPSA, or another IPSC Region to compete in this match. Your most current USPSA classification will be used. If you lack a valid, current USPSA/IPSC class card or your name is not in the USPSA classification record, you will shoot as unclassified. Please check the information on your score card stickers to make sure it is valid. Shooters eligible to compete in any secondary contest categories may do so while maintaining their regular class in their division. Senior = 50+, Super Senior = 60+, Lady = Female & JR = Under 18.

So that's the ruling there..

You Da Man, V! Us lucky SF Bay area folk's can shoot IPSC every Sunday of the month. Despite the politics! :)

Well, Seems I'll now be shooting Revolver Division. I had my arm twisted by a few of my fellow Revo guys. We're trying to get together a significant Revolver following. In the past, there has been maybe 1 or 2 Revos at the match and we want to develop about a squad's worth. It's open squadding, so that point is moot, but either way, I've been talked into it.

How was the last stage? 53 shots, covered all 3 stages at one time? I had to leave to go to work, but really wanted to shoot that 4th stage....

Tried it for fun with an open gun as well, and it sure was fun :)

Thanks for lending me the mags!

Hmm.. 100 at last count.. and from what I understand, there are at least a few more people looking to sign up before the price goes up. This should be fun.
