What gauge is your favorite to hunt with and what is the preferred game (i.e. rabbits, upland, waterfowl, predators) you like with that particular gauge?

Mine is hunting with all gauges, but I really enjoy taking rabbits with a 28 ga.

Waterfowl is always a Semi 12ga. 3" #2
Dove in Cali. is a 12ga O/U 2 3/4" #8
Dove in Texas is a 20 O/U 2 3/4" #7
Upland game over my pointer is a 20ga O/U 2 3/4" #6
I don't have a favorite but if I had to use just one
it'd be a 12ga..

Almost all of my Hunting is done with my 12 gauge Gold. Occasionally I'll bring out my 20 gauge 870 for ducks in the early season, but generally, I shoot the Auto.

Ducks, 2's and 3's (steel)
Geese, BB's and 2's (steel)
Jacksnipe (yes, there really is a critter) usually 3's but I need to pick up some 6's (steel).
Dove, 7.5's or 8's (lead)
Pheasant-wild, 3's or 4's (steel) or 6's (lead where allowed)
Quail, 8's or 9's (lead) which is rare for me...

I picked up some Kent Fast Steel this year. That stuff has some punch. 1 1/8 ounces of whatever at an unclocked 1560 fps. I shot some last weekend without my jacket on and was surprised by it's punch rearward. I was sore on Monday. I fired a bit over a box of shells. Previous seasons I had loaded my own steel and was using 1 1/8 ounces at 1450 fps. This stuff outclassed me and was about the same cost if I rolled my own.
