Rapper Kills Himself With Pen Gun
12-06) 04:21 PST ST. PARIS, Ohio (AP) --
Steven Zorn had put the pen gun to his head and clicked before, apparently thinking it was jammed and would not work.
But on the third try, the tiny silver pistol went off as the 22-year-old budding rap artist was drinking to celebrate an impending record deal. He died at a hospital.
The Nov. 18 shooting at Zorn's home in this rural village of 2,000, about 50 miles northeast of Dayton, is believed to have been accidental, according to family, friends and law enforcement officials.
"Steven had a career and his dreams all ahead of him," said Zorn's mother, Lisa McCoy-Horn. She said she wants lawmakers to outlaw pen guns, which are small-caliber, single-shot weapons that resemble pens.
Zorn had taught himself to play the keyboard and record tracts using inexpensive software on his home computer. He tracked down rap artist Miracle in Georgia and urged the crunk artist to listen to a CD of his original recordings.
"The lyrical content was awesome," Miracle said. "He had a lot of skill. I took a liking to him, took him under my wing."

A no-loss situation.
My only hope is that this happened before he was able to breed, and that his mother is beyond child-bearing years. (If he's a rapper, gawd knows where his father his...)

Perhaps they should ban shooting yourself in the head? (oh wait...)
Or ban rap ;)

If stereotypings are against the forum rules, this post above should be deleted. You're putting a group of people in a box.
From all your post in this forum and CGN v1, you seem to be a very inteligent, smart & articulate person.
"If he is a rapper, gawd knows where his father is..."
It could be easy for me to say," If he is a Country singer, his mother is his sister too." " He's a Rocker he most be on drugs." So on, & so on.
Not at all tring to flame you, Bill. Like I said, you seem to be a stand-up person. I learn from, enjoy your posting:) . I guess you can tell I like rap muzik :D. LOL Most of new stuff in last 5 years suck.(50 cent, too)

That's fine too. I actually agree with those sentiments as well :)
But then I listen to classical. We're boring. ;)

No worries. Point made. I'm just sorry to say that I feel safer at Davies Symphony Hall than I would at a rap or rock & roll concert. (Remember when the Rolling Stones hired the Hells Angels for security?) But then I feel safer at Ruth's Chris Steak House than I do at McDonalds.

Isn't this a zip gun? I thought those were already considered AOWs?
As for the rap, I won't comment other than to say that I don't like it.
I like Metal and progressive rock myself. As long as people don't play their music so that I can hear it, it doesn't bother me. I offer the same choice. Apparently some people that listen to rap at my school have never heard of headphones...but there are ways to fight them (range earplugs).

It must have been an Assault Pen. I wonder if it was a pre- or neutered post ban model?
How about a ban on stupidity?

Oh Gosh, this lady probably doesn't know that pen guns are already! outlawed. Along with switchblades, brass knuckles, cane swords, even nunchucks! If this guy blew his head off, I'm sorry he is an idiot. As for rap:
Heck I use to listen to it like crazy when I was young! Now that I'm older, I prefer more not so loud stuff like motown, oldies, ( you know the good stuff.):D Although I still listen to some rap songs. Just most of the stuff on the radio is rapop (in other words crap.)

Dude, that was like 50 years ago! Bay area concerts have come a long way since then.
I just think it's amazing that they guy repeatedly attempted to shoot himself in the head, and the crybaby is still blaming the tool. (and by tool, I mean the pen-gun, not the darwin nominee)

Pen guns are already "banned" and can only be owned with a Class III (I think).
Only "pen gun" I know of is the one that folds into a single shot pistol. But they are not on the "approved" list and can only be bought as a PPT only.
And they are as rare as an honest politician here in Cali.

you know it's bad when 50cents has more top 10 hits than any other group/band (or what ever they call them now?) since the BEETLES!!
now that's sad!
I'm just glad 98.5 is still on the air! I hate country and I hate that hip-hop stuff!
& what ever happened to that good ol NWA!! now that was some funny sh!^!! ;)
p.s. some of my all time favorites that span my musical tastes... "What a Wonderful World", "Fur Elise", and for my white trash side... "Devil Came Down to Georgia" or the dueling banjo's song from Deliverance... from my classic rock side "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp" ok don't ask me why I picked that last one... I know there are better ones! but what about "Look mommy... there's an airplane up in the sky"... or is that Lucy with her diamonds again? hmmm... it's almost 2am and I'm not even making sense to myself! goodnight.

The Stinger pen gun is perfectly legal (but not drop-tested and sellable here). The trick is it cannot fire when folded- this makes it legal just as the foldign carbines were legal before the AW ban (fed) died, since they could not fire when folded.
And I disagree. the pen gun most certainly failed. It should have gone bang the FIRST time he put it to his head and pulled the trigger! Failures to fire!! Unacceptable!!!!
I saw some wack-job knife dealer selling .22 short pen guns (fire as a pen!) at an AZ gun show a few years back. I haven't seen him around since. I bet he made a nice warm girlfriend for Bubba Jones Blubberdong at club fed...
