I made a post-Thanksgiving trip to Arizona to visit with some relatives and got the chance to check out the SAR/Crosssroads gun show in Phoenix this past weekend.

This was probably the biggest gun show I've been to that I can recall attending. The show was spread over six buildings, plus a big tent outside near the entrance, with some vendors outside on the sides of the buildings. Five of the buildings, plus the tent area were pretty similar to a Cow Palace show, with the obvious addition of lots of stuff we're not allowed to have here in California. There were a few jerky vendors, several jewelery vendors and airsoft has invaded there as well.

The SAR (Small Arms Review) building was definitely the most interesting building. Lots of NFA stuff. Full auto, AOW, silencers, etc. All sorts of M16s, Uzis, Mac-10/11's. Several 20mm Lahti anti-tank rifles. And if you had a spare $155,000, a pair of mounted Colt-made water cooled M2HB 50 BMGs. For $37,500, someone had an original Armalite AR-10 with folding bipod. At the same table were a couple more Aramlite AR-10s with the charging handle inside of the carry handle.

Aside from all the cool NFA stuff, walking through the SAR building was like perusing a copy of Shotgun News, as several vendors that regularly advertise in SGN were at the show, like Interordnance, Tapco, J&G Sales, JKF Inc, J&T Distributing and probably several others I can't recall. POF had their new piston uppers there. Lakeside Machine had their belt-fed .22LR AR upper on display (taking advanced orders now!) Can't recall which vendor (maybe InterOrdnance) had some like new (like brand new) Imbel FAL kits for $300. Basically looked like they were taken out of the crate and demilled then shipped here. That's one item I kind of regret not picking up.

If you happen to be in Phoenix, AZ next December, it's worth checking out. Of course, the Shot show in Vegas will probably have way more cool stuff to check out.
