Go to www.knvn.com (http://www.knvn.com/default.aspx) and look for the action news question of the day about half way down on the left. You can email them your opinion at the Jerry's viewer email link near the top at the left. help show the ignorants out there that people do think AW's are not EVIL!!

Urge you guys to actually email them, though. All they're going to do is assume the poll was hijacked by Calgunners and just go, "Eh, this data means nothing then." One paragraph with an opener on good statistics and one conclusion paragraph with a solid logical argument (pick one) will probably do more. I will be emailing them something when I get around to it.

What the heck is an assault weapon?

Typical PRK journalism.

Here's how easy it is to vote multiple times.
On the tool bar of Internet Explorer is the "Tools" tab. Click.
Click "Internet Options" at the very bottom of the menu.
Under "Browsing History", click "Delete".
Make sure that "Cookies" is checked and click "Delete". Then "Ok" to exit.
Go to the tv station website and click on the renew button on the top, next to the web address, the circling up and down arrow icon.
Notice that the Yes and No are back, ready for a new vote.
Have fun,

the only reson i go along with the term in these cases is because thats how people know these rifles and because if we get more people ok with "assault rifles" and they actuly find out that they are not what the media makes them out to be. who knows what they may be ok with. don't ask where my logic comes from because its based in thoughts on their logic and that is flawed. but maybe you see a point in it?

but i am definatly not saying let people get away with calling rifles "assult rifles" even if its in the hands of someone in the militry.

another thought, if you can't get them to agree its not an assult weapon then why not start the argument of the civilians being as powerful as the goverment why net them have any power over us? why be lazy sheep? i'v done that and blown many a mind. its funny to see the look on peopels faces when they relise the goverment could really just kick there *** into being slaves.

I voted. It was 2:1 yes

It seems that most people who are unfamiliar with guns are under the impression that, "Assault Weapons" are, "Machine Guns" and not just semi-automatic rifles or pistols. When I take new people out shooting I watch how they are blown away at the reality of what is being classified as an, "Assault Weapon". They had no idea, they were expecting an SMG or something like that.
I organize quarterly outings for the folks at my church to go shooting and usually have 3 or 4 first timers out of the 20 or so that end up going.

Just curious, how did KNVN come up with a poll on "assault weapons" when the robbery suspect who committed suicide by cop in the bank used two pistols?

He had a 9mm pistol he used to shoot someone in the back of the head, that person then walked out of the bank and sought medical treatment, they are going to recover thank you. He then shot a woman in the arm. (I have to assume he used the 9mm)

He then used a .50 caliber pistol to fire "at least 21 times", reportedly at responding officers.

Why did someone from chico drive to Burney to rob a bank?
For those of you not in the area, burney is a broke ****hole of a town up in the mountains. The local industry has all but died, there is no money, why go there to rob a bank. People rob banks in Redding all the time, some successfully!

Whereas I am of course very happy that the victim will recover, this just reinforces my belief that only bad guys and plinkers should use something as low-powered as 9mm! (let the flames commence!)

He lived and worked in Burney for a trucking company for a number of years, moved to Chico less than a year ago. He appeared to have mental issues from accounts, he also lost his job, had his motorcycle repossesed and a broken-down car. He took a bus to Redding, stayed over night, then took a bus to Burney.

He had an axe to grind and he got up to Burney as he could and went out in a sad show of mental deficiency. Don't know if the bank was instrumental in the repossesion of this bike or not, but robbery wasn't really his motive.

Burney is actually a rather nice town. Since the logging industry has tanked there isn't much up there but some agriculture, ranching and tourism. PLus they have lots of wet snow and trees!

Company I work for has an office there. Burney does not have a police force, they have a CHP office there to do the policing, along with the forestry and sheriff's office.

Yes, he robbed (tried) a bank with a gigantic revolver... And the news agency is asking about assault weapons.

Quote from the local morons at the Redding Record Searchlight. (I hate them, terrible reporters, terrible website, terrible paper)
The bullets from the cannonlike .50-caliber ripped 2-inch entrance holes in the sheet-metal bodies of patrol cars.

I thought they said he had a .50 cal? guess any shot sounds like a .50 cal when you work in Burney. Bunch of Barney Fife's!!!! Shows how well some LEO's know their guns.

And i don't think he even really tried to rob the bank. he did everything in a precise way to ensure he got caught and was killed. He tried to kill someone (fail). he told them to call the cops, he fired lots of shots to entice action, then fired at the cops in the open without cover.....this guy wanted to die or at least go to jail for life.
