I seem to recall that we have a couple of owner/operator interstate truckers here on Calguns. I'm looking for folks who own either an OO trucking firm or friends of Calguns that own or are senior at consigners or shippers.

Please email me at hoffmang at hoffmang.com. It's important.

I always get excited whenever I see Gene or Bill ask for help from folks in specific situations. It means something exciting is brewing behind the scenes ;)

Hopefully, it's not to provide a collection and transfer service to allow us to get our guns to safe keeping in Montana before the DOJ comes to collect them all!

My guess is that this is for a mass shipment of OLLs into California. :43:

Does it involve Coors?

If so – note to self:

1. Buy a Trans-Am

2. Grow a sweet ‘stache :euro:

I figured it was an ammo related issue too. Something to do with challenging the interstate commerce ramifications of AB962.

Wish I could help, but all I have is a big Ford pick-up.

Good luck Gene, and thanks for all your efforts.
Donation to CGF on the way as well.

ALthough Gene prolly has a big enough fan club here that any given time 5 guys with large pickups can be ready to transport his appliance or furniture of choice at 5 minutes notice.

Yes, but we'd like to have a little wider group.

To answer some questions above, the shippers or truckers do not have to be based in California. I would especially love to find one of the independent contractors who works for what used to be called California Overnight (now OnTrac I believe.)

I think Gene and the other legal eagles are going to piss on Kevin Deleon's Wheaties long before we ever have to worry about AB962 holding up.

But just in case, yeah, convoy. If we can't find what we want in the border states, we can press on through to Montana or the Dakotas and fill up there.

Whatever the case, I am NEVER buying ammo under the restrictions of AB962.
I live in LA and they have had a similar ordinance for a while now. I've have't bought ammo in LA since.

It was "Pig Pen". They called him that in the song because he was "haulin hogs" AKA Pigs, and it smelled terrible.

Thats what I was thinking. I remember him posting about AB962 being pre-empted by a statute prohibiting interference with interstate commerce at the federal level.

And as they have proved with CA's medical marijuana laws, federal trumps state enacted laws.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
We're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' Bandit run.

Ol' Smokey's got them ears on and he's hot on your trail.
He ain't gonna rest 'til you're in jail.
So you got to dodge 'im and you got to duck 'im,
You got to keep that diesel truckin'.
Just put that hammer down and give it hell.
