I have romanian sks with 1960 stamped on it. does this make it a c&r???

Federal yes, state no. The Rom SKS is a C&R under ferderal law, but does not pass the 50 year limit that Calif. uses.

Not quite, Yes it is C&R, both Fedral and state.
California does reconize it as C&R, however state law says that no long gun can be sold without going through a FFL except for long guns 50 years or older.
A rifle or hundgun can be C&R AND not be 50 years or older. The requirement for C&R is not based soley on age, but also collector value. This is why the Yugo SKS is C&R. The thing that is really a grey area is why BATF allowed the Yugo to Keep its C&R status for California when it is not allowed to keep the grenade launcher, therefore changing the original configuration. According to BATF if you change a C&R weapon from its original configuration, it looses its C&R status.
If it had lost its C&R status, we would all be violating 922(r) and would be felons under 922(r)
It seems that BATF can change the rules whenever they want. :confused:
