View Full Version : Renewal of Florida and other non resident CCW permits.

My Florida CCW permit expires next year, haven't gotten my renewal notice yet, so if any of you have renewed a Florida license, is there anything I should know about.

The website doesn't say much, years ago I heard non residents had to submit new fingerprints for instance.

Also, I have heard Florida is backlogged.

Would those of you who have non resident permits who have renewed please share with us your experience not only with Florida, but other states as well.

Thank you

I have one I need to renew right now too... haven't received any papers (I'm not relying on getting any either)

If you have the same mailing address (or updated a change of address with Florida or Utah) they will mail you a renewal application approximately 60 days prior to expiration. Florida does ask out-of-Staters to submit another set of prints and new photo. Renewal fee is $107.00, but Florida Permits are now good for seven (7) years.

Renewal processing is a bit faster than initial permits, because they already have you in the system. Utah has renewal applications on their website, but they will also send you a renewal ap 60 days prior to expiration, providing they have your current address listed.

Yeah it's just as simple as that. I renewed almost 3 years ago, easy as cutting cheese!
