View Full Version : Pistol light
Hi everyone,
I am trying to find a simple light I can mount onto my 9mm Hi-Power and have seen only those that require a mounting rail on the pistol, or small flashlights held in the nontrigger hand. Anyone can point me to a simple light that can mount onto the front of the trigger guard or some other part of a pistol that doesn't have mounting rail? thanks.

I haven't seen any lights that mount on pistols without rails or special mounts. There are lasers for this, but the weight of a light is a lot more, and would stress the relatively small mounting area a lot during recoil.
There are scope mounts for some pistols (like 1911s) that mount at the grip panels; something like this could be hacked for a light mount.
I've also seen references to rails/mounts that can go under the frame for some pistols, but these require drill'n'tap to attach.

You might want to get in touch with SureFire's customer service. They have an application that will fit your Browning, it mounts via the slidestop lever pin. It is pretty much the original light mounting system SF developed for LAPD's 1911's about 20 yrs ago.
This is what they have for you:

Also ask to see if they have rail adaptors for their Nitrolon series that will fit your gun. I had one several years ago for a 2nd gen Glock (w/o rails) where the adaptor bolted directly to the front of the trigger guard and the light then attached to the adaptor plate.
Hope this info helps you out.
