Since this Prop H doesn't take effect until January 1, 2006, I've noticed a couple of online vendors who are unwilling to ship to San Francisco. I just wanted to make sure that:
1. Prop. H applies to all calibers of ammunition: handgun, rifle, shotgun? If this is true, then it won't matter if I have shotgun, I wouldn't be able to use it if I run out of shotshells.
2. Any other online shops still willing to ship to San Francisco before the end of the year?

You might try JG Sales, but I think your best bet is to stock up on ammo from the next gun show. I think you will find it more and more difficult to find a company that will ship ammo to a SF address. I live and work in SF and have used Sportsman's Guide in the past, to order from, but they have stopped shipping to a SF address. Someone else on this forum, stated that they will not ship the ammo even if just your billing address is in SF

Ya that was me, I havent found anyone willing to ship to me in SF. Looks like its the gun shows and having friends order it from San Jose. I found a few shops that carry some surplus but they seem to want more than I'm willing to pay for ammo, sometimes 2x as much. But by the time you pay for parking and entrance fees you can add $17.00 onto the tab. BTW does anybody know if Chabot or Los Altos does magnet checks, as that will limit my selection to SA. :(

tikkasf: I figured as much... Since I don't get to go to the range as often as I would like, I hope I can get by with whatever I can get for now. :(
podobo: Good luck finding a decent source. Hopefully we both won't get stuck with long arms that we can't feed.:o

Prop H does apply to all calibers, but you can just drive to Pacifica and buy ammo from City Arms. If you really need to buy mailorder, you can have it shipped to a friend's address outside of SF and pick it up from their house. The sale, transfer, and manufacture of ammo within SF is banned by H, but outside of the city, you can buy, transfer, and manufacture all you want.

I just realized this. Does the ban on "manufacturing" ammo in SF mean that if you reload that you will be effectively breaking the law? It certanly seems that way to me.

The definition of "manufacture" by the DOJ is with intent to sell or distribute but who knows these day. Lib politicians seem to be interpreting laws the way they see fit.

What kind of ammo are you guys ordering? For those who are ordering shotgun shells, if you guys want to split a shipment, I can have it shipped to my house (San Mateo). I know for sure that Ammoman will ship here.
