Here is the situation...

Selling a gun. The buyer has it at his house (was checking it out). The seller is an hour and 45 minutes away. Plan was for the seller to come to the buyer and both go to an FFL to transfer. However, ideally the seller would prefer not to drive and a half hours.

Is it possible for the buyer to go to an FFL with the gun and have the seller get his info to the FFL?

I see this as being not that different than a situation in which the seller sends the gun to the FFL to transfer to the buyer...as in the case the FFL has no direct (physical contact) with the seller. Difference is the gun is being delivered by the buyer...odd situation...I know. However, maybe I am missing something.

Of course, assuming this is possible, we'd like only do it of the FFL doesnt charge an additional fee for doing so.

Is this possible at all?

Handgun or longgun? Handgun PPT I belive requires 2 partys info on DROS, but I can't remenber for sure. Long gun might not. Lots of help aren't I? ;)

I'd just drop it in the mail postmarked return address to your seller. Then he DID just send it in :)

Or buy your friend lunch when he comes to visit!

OOps, sorry, it's a long gun. So maybe I can make this work? I'd rather not have to do all the driving if there's a way...:)
