Folks,

Just saw the latest issue of "The Wave" magazine. In it, back page, the editor writes an entire article about why he thinks Measure H passing is a good thing.

Feel free to pick up a free copy (NoCAL publication, available at most downtowny places) and write to this guy letting him know what you think of his opinion.

For those who don't have access or who can't find a copy, here are a few notable quotes:

"The National Rifle Association is fighting the initiative in court, and thank God for that, because...every minute we distract them with legal battles is one less bullet flying through the air."

"Your gun is never going to save your life."

"Killing people is pretty much all a gun is good for."

"...it surprised me that 42 percent of the population felt safer with people around them holding something that can shoot a hole in them."

It sounds like the author of that response to measure H should take a one way flight to Cuba. In this day and age of our information society you'd figure someone who purports to have a worthy opinion in the media would have a clue.

Call me twisted for thinking so, but I almost secretly hope that confiscations begin in SF before they're done in court so we get to see all the media and Civil Rights groups descend on San Francisco and turn the city into a LIVING HELL of a media circus.

Maybe confiscation and violence is what it takes. It will be interesting to see how accurate that poll that was taken during the 1990s was. A poll was taken amoung Law Enforcement and the US Military asking them if they would obey orders to confiscate weapons from lawful citizens. Over 82% said "NO".

By the way, I only quoted a few juicy excerpts from his entire editorial. You guys in the Bay Area should try to pick up the latest issue and read it through.. Although, I guess this would serve his ultimate purpose - write something controversial, get people to pick up the magazine, see the advertisers, and increase circulation of his publication. Hmm.

The SF Police Officer Association along with the Sheriff Officer Association and the CHP officer association all came out against H before the election. The police in SF know it's not grandma or uncle Ted who owns a handgun for self protection and obeys the law who are responsible for the murders in the city. The police doesn't want to confiscate people's guns and very likely won't. The police chief, however, is another story since she is a political appointee of the Mayor.

This guy is one sick bastard...

"Your gun is never going to save your life."

I guess he wants the police disarmed as well.
