House Moves To Stop Gun Loss

The House overwhelmingly passed a resolution Thursday that asks the Legislature to consider a bill that would let people keep their guns during times of civil disorder.

Rep. Steve Scalise, R-Jefferson, said he was appalled that police confiscated guns during the riotous days following Hurricane Katrina.
Officers used Gov. Kathleen Blanco's emergency declaration as its legal basis to seize firearms. "People who have legally obtained firearms shouldn't have them taken from them," Scalise said.

What are the odds that the Kali Legislature will attempt to take this in the opposite direction and usurp the rights of the individual in favor of the paranoid interest of the sheeple?

The title threw me a little when I first saw it. I had Prop H on the brain b/c of SF and I thought someone changed residence or picked up their house and moved it...

As much as I'd like to pat our legislature on the back for this bill, we already have federal law that allows us to keep guns during civil unrest. It's called the second ammendment.
