The California Wellness Foundation has awarded its Peace Prize to Brea attorney Sayre Weaver (http://www.tcwf.org/leadership_awards/ca_peace_prize/2005/biographies.htm#sayre)for her tireless contributions to driving California gun dealers out of business. Oops, I mean, for pointing out to California city officials the many ways gun dealers can be regulated.

Just a little searching on the California Wellness Foundation's website and I was able to come up with some big bucks that help the victim disarmament camp take away our rights. This organization is no friend to individual rights at all regardless of what they say they promote. Look at their donations below. It's very long so be warned.

So as I understand it:

This non-government foundation is giving grant money to government entities?
And this grant money is be utilized to further enhance the gun taking schemes of the potlickers/NGO's by using skewed info and data from other grantees?
Is that the gist of it?

Maybe it's just me and my elementary way of understanding things but this smells corrupt.

The laws must have been put in place to make this legal, but it ain't right. I pay taxes to the government while the Foundation pays..............what?

The UC system is questionable but payments to the gov to get your policies enacted?

Date's back to 1993, we seem to be outnumbered, outflanked, outspent and oblivious.

The seeds were planted years ago.

why is it always FIREARMS/HANDGUN VIOLENCE????

it's like the inanimate object comes to life and does something...

sigh...

interesting fact from a link from the TCWF. it's the CA DOJ HOMICIDE IN 2004 publication:

http://ag.ca.gov/cjsc/publications/homicide/hm04/preface.pdf

on page 31, under the CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:

When homicides were examined by contributing
circumstance, it was found that:
In 2004,
■ 7.0 percent occurred as a result of a rape,
robbery, or burglary.
■ 42.7 percent occurred as a result of an
argument.
■■ 7.9 percent occurred as a result of a
domestic violence-related argument.
■■ 34.9 percent occurred as a result of all
other types of arguments.
■ 33.7 percent were gang-related.
■ 4.2 percent were drug-related.
■ 12.4 percent occurred as a result of “all other”
contributing circumstances.

maybe if they ban arguing or GANGS, it would take care of almost 80% of homicides in kalif!

Well, If I have my way, UCMerced will end up being generally pro gun. Most of not all the RAs here have been to the range and had fun, also, since this is the 'central valley' university, many of the people attending already own shotguns, or have gone hunting.

I once came across a website that disclosed which professional sports teams made contribution to anti gun initiatives. It was very eye opening and disappointing. Does anyone recall seeing this?

What's next, is she going after the automobile industry for allowing drunk drivers to drive cars.

How about knife makers-because the knives were too sharp!

Where in the hell is the "law of common sense."
