View Full Version : Anyone use one of these Brass deflectors?

It is a brass deflector? I was going to make one of those bags that catch all the brass but then I found this and thought hmm... wanted to know what it was like and where it threw the brass?

My AR shoots the brass to the 4 o'clock position so I have to go hunt for it.

I think it depends on the gun. My AR spits the brass forward, to the 2 or 3 o'clock position. So the deflector would only help the guns that throw backwards.

Yes, I do. Some High Power shooters use them. It makes it a lot easier to retain your brass in a match, especially in standing.

Your brass should land right next to you (and stay there if dirt), at your 1 to 3 o'clock.

The only modification I recommend is lining the inside flap of the deflector with rubber (I use pond liner), which will deaden the deflection and minimize neck denting.

One empty that was tossed back into the chamber was was one too many for me.

That can happen in prone single shot slow fire. Solution: bend the flap up a few degrees.

It happens to me often in standing, but that's because of my support hand technique/placement.

it puts it all in a nice pile for my friend that has one.

Not me, my brass is like my windshield wiper squirters- I don't care where it goes:)
