If I use a tight 2pt sling on an AK (front attach point is at the gas block) to stabilize my off hand shooting, will the POI change much as compared to running a no sling configuration?

I really doubt you will notice a difference... having said that I have no experience with it.

It could if your putting any kind of load on the sling while shooting. The load on the sling is putting pressure on one side of the barrel so, theoretically, you could see a change in POI.

From the front attachment the sling first runs straight back because I hold it between my support hand and the rifle, once past my hand it then turns goes around my body, so it is not being pulled at from as big an angle, but I like to push the rifle forward against it for stability, so there is pulling on the barrel from the left since that is where the loop is.
