Looks like the infamous Serbu 'Two Weeks' are finally here!

http://www.serbu.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=673

After much anticipation (YEARS of it), the first official production BFG-50A receiver was officially "born" just a few hours ago. The first small batch of rifles are scheduled to ship out of here by Monday. Well, let's just say that the first small batch had better ship out, or we're in big trouble. Sorry, no pics yet. Probably in a few days.

I gave up and got this instead. At the price of ammo (even reloading) just seemed to much for me.

I sent in my 2 napkin rings right after purchasing them. Had one made into a carbine and the other sat at Serbu for a couple of years before I gave up on the 50A.

The "napkin ring" is the bare receiver we bought before the .50 bmg ban. Serbu could not keep up with demand (due to us buyers in ca) and offered a universal receiver.

For the semi auto it looks like you will need an all new receiver (magwell) So how can you get around the registered receiver?

Wow so those "napkin rings" were what was considered the firearm?

The napkin rings were $500 and at the time the MSRP of the 50A was 5K.

It's now at $6,750.

Just like what happened with some full auto sears. Register a bunch of materials before the ban and then turn them into sears.

now does the BFG-50A come in 510dtc?Mark has mentioned that a CA-legal version was in the works (.510dtc with some sort of mag-lock), but it would be after he got the BMG backlog thinned out first.
