I am considering the AR30 in .308 to be my next rifle, is it worth the money/any regrets? besides it's looks.

Ugly. Shoots well. Had one Sold it. Ordered another. Been waiting like a year. If you find one, buy it if the price is reasonable.

I would regret the looks and the price.

In .338LM it's not a bad choice at all, but I wouldn't go the .308 route with one. There are much better choices out there in that caliber.

Yeah, go for the .338.

The attraction in 338 LM is that it's relatively inexpensive compared to others with the exception of the hardly ever seen Remington MLR and has zero recoil. I don't think it offers much in 308. I have the AR 30 in 338 LM, the ergonomics are not all that good and the lock time is slow as hell.

I think an $800.00 Remington police gun will shoot just as well as the AR 30 in 308.

AR30 in .308 is pointless to me buy a police put some nice stuff on it and be done. If thats what you're set on then go for it but to me it's just to expensive for not that great of a rifle for that caliber there are much better and cheaper options...

I've been looking up what you guys said and it's spot on. Im about 90% talked out of it, just want to get a range report from and owner and then I think i'll be done with it. If it's an "ok" gun then I will be looking into the tikka/700 series.
