I was looking at zm lr300s. they look really neat. i got to wondering how they shoot. does anyone have one? is it awesome or not? also does anyone know the legality of folding stocks?

In the day they were the first piston ARs I saw. I heard raves from the gun mags but never handled one in person. BB installed, folding stock is okay.

The system is not a piston, but another form of DI system.

Right. All the recoil springs are in the for-end of the rifle, allowing the folding stock. LIKE a GP but a DI in function.
My confusion.

I haven't shot one, just fondled one at the Houston gun show. Looking at the system it may be a soft shooter since it has 1/2 the carrier weight, and no buffer.

xNY, can you get one to test for the publication(s) you support?

2 people use them at 3-gun IPSC.
Michael Voight & Todd Garret.
I heard because of the gas system it is alot cleaner than the regular AR system. And recoil is much softer.

ParaUSA (the new Para-Ordnance) TTR is the new version of the ZM Weapons LR300. MSRP on the Para TTR is around $2300.

Too bad they don't make a retrofit kit. Can't be harder to make compared to a piston kit.

ZM still sells kits. worth the investment?

Technically its still a piston though, IIRC. So technically you were right :p But yes, some of the guts have been moved forward to have a folding stock.

ZM weapons was acquired by Para and is now called the TTR.
