Did these even exist in 1994?

The only difference between these and a 30rd 5.56 is the follower. Besides, most folks just use these kits as the basis for 10/20, 10/25 or 10/30 magazines for the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia.

You can rebuild one mag into another. Doesnt have to be the same caliber.

6.8 & 5.56 mags are NOT the same. Followers are not interchangable between the two.

Yes, the followers WILL fit into the body of the magazine. I own both, and yes they are interchangeable. The shape of the top of the follower is slightly different due to the difference in cartridge case dimensions. Example: a 30rd mag for 556/223 will only hold 25-26 of the 6.8spc rounds. if you are just going to make ten-rounders out of these, it won't matter.

Aren't the feed lips different as well...?

Aren't the feed lips different as well...?

My handy-dandy dial indicators show that the 6.8 lips are tapered ever so slightly. Just 0.030" This may be by design or just differences in manufacturers tolerences. The mags that I measured for comparison are 5.56 by D&H and the 6.8 mags are by Cproducts.
