Want To Start a Calguns shippers club.

I know a lot of you have found an item in our Classifieds with a seller that will not ship. Its a PITA for sure. A few members and I try to help each other with getting items we need. I would like to extend this club state wide.

Is this a good idea for anyone else? Here's the scenario.

You find the perfect AR upper. Seller will not ship. You determine his location. You find a member of the shippers club in the area. You contact the shipper member and see if it is ok to pick up. If member agrees then you pay him via PP or GUNPAL for item, for shipping and a tip. Shipping member then pays for item, picks up item, box it up and ship it.

I believe if we get enough guys together we can cover a great deal of California. We can set up a map with general areas and maybe a symbol in our signatures to let others know.

Let me know what you guys think. good or bad

We have already assisted in 12 cross state sales. It works.

You could do the same thing with firearms, although you have to use FFLs to ship.

Vinz

I am not too sure how that can be worked. It would require a bit more effort I suppose. Maybe if we had a few FFL's on board too. Good thing to think about.

With firearms, the buyer would make arrangements with the remote FFL, such as paying the FFL, arranging for a receiving FFL, etc. and then the seller would drop off the firearm, after presenting ID and then the firearm is shipped to the buyer's FFL. This would not work with handguns which are not on the certified list though.

Good idea. I don't ship, but if I got a GUNPAL from someone who couldn't pickup... Knowing this system is in place, I would give them a unique random code that they can give to their shipping agent, who then gives it to me, and I give them the item(s) to ship.

I've been in the market for a nice used SKS or Saiga and I can't tell you how many I've seen in just the last couple days for much less than what I'm offering but the seller is hundreds of miles away and not willing to ship.

This shipper club deal looks promising.

I just built this Google Form (http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dFE5Nm1wTWVLT1hTZER1SHF2ai1zWXc6M A) and Page (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tQ96mpMeKOXSdDuHqvj-sYw&single=true&gid=0&output=html)...
It maybe a simple way to keep track...
