Does anyone have a decent sized grinder with a Metal Wire-Buffing wheel attached?

If you do and are located in the Pittsburg/Antioch/Oakley/Brentwood/Bay Point/Concord Area, and available today.

Lemme know!

I'm willing to cough up a few bucks as well.

I bought a CCF Race Frame to tinker with and it looks like the previous
owner either painted or baked on some real crappy finish... I'm looking to
just wire brush it off.

I would advise against using a wire brush. Maybe a mild cleaner. Carb or brake clean works good at removing paint. But try it on a surface that you can see first to test how it will react with your metal part.

Step away from the wire wheel...

You might want to contact CCF for a recommendation on refinishing; they don't recommend any finish that requires heat. You need to be careful not to destroy the anodizing on your frame if it's aluminum.

Bead blast.

Media blast with either walnut or fine glass beads. A wire wheel will damage the metal.

If you are trying to prep the surface for a refinish, you should blast with aluminum oxide to rough it up.

If you want to smooth it out and leave it with the metal finish, bead blast.
