Have you guys tried to attach the CASV-M or SIR-M handguards for SU-16CA? How do they fit? Any pics? No guessing please. I am not worried about possible Delta ring attachment problems. It can be easily fixed with couple of extra bolts at the front. However, do the CASV-M or SIR-M fit lenght/wide-wise? Are there enough room inside the handguard for both the barrel and bolt tube? I am seriously thinking of buying one to improve the looks of SU-16.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you want to waste your money like that? It will not improve the function of the rifle one bit and will take away two of the strengths of the SU-16 - it's light weight and foldability. Save that money towards an AR, the firearm those parts are actually designed to be installed on - or ammo. If you really need some rails, get the KT compact forearm and then mount some of those small bolt-on rail panels onto it - this will give you functional rails and maintain the weight and foldability for a fraction of the price.

No worries. I already got ARs, and plenty of money too. This would be my brainiac project... I know that there are SU16s w/ A.R.M.S Sir out there...

SU's are an accurate, light, Cali legal rifle that takes ar 30rd mags out of the box. Its a great rifle to own. Build it the way you want.

Wish I could help with your question but that forend is a little rich for my blood. I'd suggest heading over to www.ktog.org and asking those guys. I know a few of them have added what you want.

We all mod our guns at one point in time only to realize that all the crap we put on gets taken off and put up for sale in the parts and accessories sub forum :D

There was once a pic of someones SU with the CASV on it just to show how ridiculous it looked. (From KTOG.ORG) Just for you.....when I get off work today Im gonna slap my CASV on my SU16 just to prove my point to you. I even reverted to putting back the original bipod forend on because I got tired of the compact forend.

I had a great idea. I will buy a King Arms CASV-M (airsoft crap) for $150, and save over $100 (VLTOR) + some extra bolts. If the handguard brokes, so what, I will sell it on eBay to some lucky Airsofter for cheap price. I will test this. Sure the aluminium should be almost as durable as the Kel-Tec's own plastic bipod/panels (and you can shoot with the rifle w/o the panels).... I will post some pics when I am done, and tested the thing at the range.

Sorry bud......just tried to put the CASV on my Su16 and guess what??

The Gas Piston Tube gets in the way. haha!

So unless you want to turn your SU16 into a bolt action rifle and get rid of the conventional long-stroke gas piston operation just to have a CASV or an SIR on your rifle.....you're **** out of luck. :43:

I will get a King Arms CASV-M. There is much more room inside of that fake CASV-M. Btw, was the fitting almost or not even close? I will post some pics soon.

Here is an original CASV-M on an SU-16A. Different sights on the CA but you get the idea. Also this CASV-M has no cutout for the front sights so a newer one may work.

These were just done for test fittings and did not stay on the rifle. No folding, front heavy, and you have to remove them to clean the bolt so you will need to rezero your scope each time. Went back to the compact forend as soon as the pics were taken.
Good luck on your project.

You can only dress up a turd so much. The receiver is still going to grenade in your face at some point.

Thank you for the pics. Yes, it does not look as good as I was hoping -- the barrel is too low, and also the CA's front sight might cause some fitting problems. I will stick with the Kel-Tec's own compact forend. Unless, I have a new crazy idea in my next
