I've tried the search button, but to no results I'm looking for. I'm looking for something directly from the DOJ or ATF I can print out, and keep with my weapon. I've found some decent information, but really need something showing its from california. This will be kept with my home made AK.

Also have been looking for the definition of a "home made" weapon and its legality. I'm having a real hard time finding good info. I just need some links to print out hard info. Thanks guys!!!

I'm pretty amazed that your search returned no results.

Here's a start (http://hoffmang.com/firearms/Sacramento-PD-OLL_Training_Bulletin-2008-11-18.pdf).

zip-guns are defined in California Penal Code 12020(c)(10) (http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/dwcl/12020.php) 12020(c)(10)(B) is the portion that makes many homebuilt guns legal.

I would say it in the other direction. That's the section that makes some homebuilt guns illegal. If the homebuilt gun follows a pattern in commerce, it's not a zip gun.
