So far, I've talked with the guys at Retting's and Gun World. Anyone care to suggest a good location to have this done, perhaps at a small gun smith's so I can support a smaller business while getting the work done?

What's wrong with mounting it yourself unless you want to get the rings lapped and don't have the equipment?

it aint rocket science.... by a quality base/ring combination and use a torque wrench. that's all folks....

Blue loctite, torque wrench, and small level to make it easy. You really can do it yourself. I mounted mine years back when calguns wasnt around:D
10yrs later it still holds zero. Here are some starting points. Just so you know, i am not a handy guy but i was able to mount it with ease. Just take your time.

It is fairly simple if you buy a one piece rail and tactical rings. But if you want regular rings mounted, call Jim Hoag in Canoga Park. He may do it while you wait, and at least you'll meet one of the legends of the shooting world who helped start IPSC shooting in California...

If you want it mounted without lapping the rings bring it out to a Place to Shoot on Sunday and I'll mount it for you. Since you're a Calgunner I'll waive the normal fee of 10.00.
