Is it possible to install a free float handguard without removing the pinned\welded flash hider? It's the YHM Tactical lightweight model if that matters:confused:

Yes, you need a two piece handguard. Troy, MI, DD and YHM make two piece handguards.

Easy to install, top-notch quality/finish, FF......

Very well done. What optic and mount is that? Looks like a T1 but can't tell the mount. And is the FDE darker in the duracoat version? Looks more like a very dark green with hints of brown.

For the YHM Lightweight model with pinned muzzle device, if you have the tower FS, you're stuck, because it's the tube design.

I had to use the MI FF (http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=244) for my pinned 14.5" uppers.

BTW, FF does not use the front retainer. If you have the rails attached with the front retainer, then you don't have a free float barrel.
